About this list

Young Berlin players have a calendar of their own. The youth individual championship BJEM is played in age classes, and its first preliminary round for the 2027 edition was held on 3 October 2026 at the Andreas-Gymnasium in Friedrichshain; the youth rapid championship follows in June. Schulschach Berlin holds the school championships and, in June, a championship for pupils who belong to no club, the VlEM.

Clubs add tournaments for the youngest. SC Borussia Lichtenberg runs the Abrafaxe-Turnier, whose 27th edition was played in June 2025; SC Kreuzberg holds a regional under-8 tournament and the Kreuzberger Kinder-Sommer-Turnier, which reached its tenth edition in July 2026; SV Empor runs a youth blitz Grand Prix. The Kindersommeropen and the district championship of Mitte complete the list.
